Method and tools
The method and the tools we use
Our work is built on Structured Collaboration and the Business Execution Canvas®. The method, tools, diagnostic and courses live on structuredcollaboration.com, where you can try all of them free.
The method
Structured Collaboration
Structured Collaboration deals with the joins between teams and functions, where much of an organisation’s complexity builds up. It works in three steps.
- Map where work crosses your organisation.
- Agree the performance contract at each join, using the Structured Collaboration Canvas™.
- Sustain the roles, forums and rhythms that keep those agreements working, up to the senior team’s Enterprise Execution Forum.
The Continuum of Collaboration describes six stages of working together, from simple communication to Constructed Collaboration. The aim is not to push every connection to the top. It is to match the structure to what each connection carries.
What is Structured Collaboration?
The Business Execution Canvas®
A single view of how a business turns strategy into day-to-day execution, built from 27 components. We use it to design organisations, to diagnose them, and to give leaders and teams a common language for how the parts fit together.
The tools

Every tool can be tried free on a worked example, Harbourline Services. One free account keeps your own work in all of them.
